Firearms Training Courses

( All courses follow Maryland firearms laws and guidelines.)

These courses set the benchmark for responsible wear and carry in Maryland. Whether you are launching a career in professional security, renewing your current credential, or taking a critical step in your personal safety plan, we provide the essential training you need. Our curriculum is meticulously designed to exceed Maryland State Police guidelines, offering Initial and Renewal Wear and Carry (Handgun Permit) certification, as well as the Handgun Qualification License (HQL).

16-Hour Maryland Wear and carry Certification course (Initial)

  • Attention:

    All first-time applicants are required to complete the Maryland Wear and Carry Permit Initial Certification Course before receiving their permit. This 16-hour, in-person course is conducted over two days and provides the essential training and knowledge needed to obtain a Wear and Carry Permit in the state of Maryland.

    W&C Certification Course:

    Day 1 initial course will be on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:00AM-4:00PM. The class is in-person only. Firearms and weapons of any kind are prohibited in the classroom. Please bring a valid form of identification.

    Refund Policy:

    Cancellations must be made at least three hours before the scheduled class time to be eligible for a refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than three hours before the class. If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible to make arrangements.

This 16-hour, state-mandated course consists of two 8-hour days of classroom and range training. Day One covers essential legal instruction and firearm safety. Day Two focuses on hands-on proficiency, real-world judgment skills, and the mandatory Live Fire Range Qualification.


4-HOur Maryland HQL Certification course

Learn the fundamentals of handgun safety, Maryland firearm laws, and complete the Live Fire Range Qualification to qualify for your Handgun Qualification License (HQL).

  • Attention:

    All first-time applicants are required to complete the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) initial certification course. This 4-hour, in-person course provides the essential training and knowledge required to obtain an HQL in Maryland.

    (HQL) Certification Course:

    The initial course will be on Tuesday 9:00AM-3:00PM. The class is in-person only. Firearms and weapons of any kind are prohibited in the classroom. Please bring a valid form of identification.

8-Hour Maryland wear and carry renewal

    All individuals applying for a Maryland Handgun Permit renewal must complete the required renewal training course. This refresher course ensures that permit holders remain up to date with Maryland’s firearm laws, safe handling practices, and qualification standards necessary to maintain a valid permit.

    Initial Renewal Certification Course:

    The initial course will be on Thursdays Fridays, Saturday & Sundays 8:00AM-4:00PM. The class is in-person only. Firearms and weapons of any kind are prohibited in the classroom. Please bring a valid form of identification.

This 8-hour, state-mandated course is completed in a single day. The curriculum provides a comprehensive refresher on handgun safety and updated Maryland carry laws, meeting all state requirements. The training concludes with the mandatory Live Fire Range Qualification necessary to maintain your current credential.
